Know Me

Dale Frost

(MEd, PGDipChFamPsyc)

Registered Psychologist

I’m a parent to a person and a pet, with lived experience of neurodiversity, fostering, and the joys and challenges that come with both.

I’m also a registered Child and Family Psychologist, with experience supporting children, teens, adults, and their families across a wide range of needs and life experiences. I’ve been working as a psychologist since 2020, providing therapy and assessments for people experiencing diverse social, emotional, and developmental challenges.

I work in a positive, empathetic, and strengths-based way, supporting people to move closer to the things that matter to them.

My experience with young children is a particular strength of my work, and I offer play therapy for children under 8. I also provide therapy and support for older children, and work alongside parents and caregivers to help families move toward their goals and make meaningful change. At times, this involves working with parents and children together, to strengthen relationships and deepen connection.

I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to ensure support is responsive and relevant to the people I work with. My work is informed by DDP, PACE, DBT, and PCIT, and is always grounded in current life realities. It is underpinned by a neuroaffirming and trauma-informed approach. Regardless of the approach used, therapy is tailored to the needs of the individuals and families I see.

I am a member of the New Zealand Psychological Society, and undertake regular supervision and professional development.
